You haven’t shared the Gospel until…

… you’ve asked someone to respond to it.

In "Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God" J.I. Packer says:

Evangelizing is not simply a matter of teaching and imparting information to the mind. There is more to it than that. Evangelizing includes the endeavor to elicit a response to the truth taught. It is a matter, not merely of informing, but also of inviting.

If we haven't given a specific question or call to respond to the Gospel, we haven't fully shared it. We might have shared all of the Gospel truth, but without a line drawn in the sand and an invitation to cross it, we’ve only given information.

Thanks to Tre for reminding me of this in our recent conversation.
